EISA votes Fujifilm FinePix S5600 Zoom European Zoom Camera of 2006-2007 - Powerful mini-SLR style camera honoured by celebrated awards association
Fujifilm today announces that its acclaimed FinePix S5600 Zoom digital camera has been named ‘European Zoom Camera 2006-2007’ at this year’s prestigious European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) awards. The FinePix S5600 Zoom is the third generation of Fujifilm’s powerful mini-SLR style cameras with long zoom lens. It features a fast 10x optical zoom with fixed lens housing, and covers all settings from wide angle to telephoto. This gives the photographer optical power without the bulkiness and heavy body of larger cameras.
The camera also boasts Fujifilm’s 5th Generation five megapixel Super CCD HR sensor and Real Photo Technology, which provides a sensitivity range of ISO 64 to ISO 1600. This enables it to achieve crisp, clear and noise-free images even in very low light conditions.
EISA explained the camera’s success with the following commendations: “The Fujifilm FinePix S5600 delivers a strong performance at an affordable price. The compact, SLR-style body is equipped with a fast fixed 10x zoom lens. Fujifilm’s Super CCD HR delivers excellent resolution, even higher than that expected for a five million-pixel CCD. The innovative Real Photo Technology reduces noise very effectively and allows ISO sensitivities up to 1600. For the enthusiast photographer the FinePix offers aperture and shutter priority metering, as well as a fully manual option.”
This year’s success for Fujifilm follows the naming of its FinePix F10 Zoom as EISA’s European Pocket Camera of the Year at the 2005 ceremony.
Adrian Clarke, Fujifilm’s Director of Photo Products, said, “Our mini-SLR style cameras have consistently won plaudits for their combination of high functionality with day-to-day convenience. The FinePix S5600 Zoom fits an incredibly powerful zoom lens into a compact body and is available at a very reasonable price. It’s a camera that opens up new photographic possibilities for amateurs and enthusiasts alike, especially its ability to deliver incredibly crisp images in low light. At Fujifilm we believe increased sensitivity is the new benchmark for digital photography, and it is encouraging to receive an award that recognises our leadership in this area.”
EISA is Europe’s premier consumer technology awards association. The judging panel consists of nearly 50 leading European photography, audio, home theatre, convergence, and mobile electronics magazines. The awards recognise products that combine the most advanced technology, the most desirable features, the ultimate expression of design, the most satisfying ergonomics and the greatest value for money.
