Epson Press Release 30/10/03

EPSON DEBUTS ITS COLOUR PRINTING SOLUTIONS AND DIGITAL PHOTO ALBUM AT MACEXPO 2003 - STAND 430

20th-22nd November 2003 - EPSON’s first UK viewing of the Stylus Photo RX300, Stylus Photo RX500, Stylus Pro 4000, AcuLaser C4100 and digital photo album - PhotoPC P-1000 will take place at MacExpo 2003.

The Stylus Photo RX300 is the first standalone A4 printer that combines long lasting premium quality printing and compatibility with the widest selection of digital cameras on the market.  Capable of storing images directly to a CD-R or Zip drive without the need to be connected to a PC, the Stylus Photo RX300 also supports 9 different types of memory cards, without the need of an adaptor.  Other features include CD face printing, high speed output and a droplet size of 3pl for smoother finer detail.  The Stylus Photo RX300 is aimed at the experienced or recently converted digital camera user.

Next in line, the Stylus Photo RX500, the first all-in-one home photo centre providing high quality scans, premium photo printing and copying.  Further flexibility is offered with the inclusion of integrated memory card slots and the support of XD format.  Direct printing facilities and the ability to scan faded photographs and negatives make the Stylus Photo RX500 an ideal
solution for the semi-professional photographer and photo enthusiast.

The Stylus Pro 4000 is for the user who requires photo quality output at high speed,  colour stability and flexible media handling up to A2 in format. This latest addition to the EPSON wide format printing range is designed to produce high quality output on everything from exhibition
graphics, POS displays, CAD and GIS, fine art, photographs and printing proofs without compromising on either speed or quality.  Supported in four varied models the Stylus Pro 4000 addresses the needs of a range of businesses and users to ensure the best quality output is provided whatever their requirements.

EPSON has introduced the AcuLaser C4100 for businesses and users working within a demanding work group that require high-quality, low cost colour and monochrome printing. With a high-speed performance of up to 24ppm and a resolution of 2400 dpi users are assured that complex printer jobs can be printed quickly, efficiently and to the highest standard.

The addition of the AcuLaser C4100 to the range eliminates the need for separate colour and mono printers. Businesses replacing their current monochrome workgroup laser printers with the AcuLaser C4100 could save money when printing in black and white but have the added benefit of being able to use colour when needed.

Finally in the debut line up is the PhotoPC P-1000, the company’s first entry into the mobile imaging market.  Aimed at photo enthusiasts and professional photographers the PhotoPC P-1000 utilises EPSON’s latest LCD and display technologies to deliver a new method of viewing high definition photos and images on the move. With a resolution of 640 x 480 and a 10GB
hard disk the PhotoPC P-1000 is ideal for the digital photographer who needs to be able to view high resolution images direct from their camera.

Visitors to the EPSON stand can browse and expect to find a printing solution for every need. For the user working from home or within the SME environment who is looking for a cost-effective, high performance, printer, scanner, copier multi-function device, a demonstration of the Stylus CX6400 is essential.

EPSON’s Stylus C84 is also on display, aimed at the home office and small office user where the most commonly used media is plain or recycled paper. Designed to consider running costs, the Stylus C84 provides high quality printing with speeds up to 22ppm black text and 12ppm colour.

For photographers seeking a high quality photo printer or scanner device, demonstrations of the award winning Stylus Photo 2100 and Stylus Photo 950 are available.  Both printers are coupled with scanner demonstrations of the Perfection 1670 Photo and Perfection 3170 Photo.

Visitors to the show seeking a solution to provide high quality prints up to 24” combined with fast print speeds, longevity and a colour gradation should view the EPSON Stylus Pro 7600 as an ideal choice.

Sitting in attendance on the EPSON stand, alongside the AcuLaser C4100, is the AcuLaser C8600.  An A3W colour laser aimed at the business and graphics user it provides high quality output in both colour and mono on a range of media formats from C5 to A3W.  Supporting Adobe Postscript 3, it features make it ideal for users who require high-quality results with crop marks, or who provide concept/design proofing and desktop publishing.  It is equally
at home producing bright visual aids, business reports, spreadsheets, charts and CAD images.
