Put EPSON’s latest innovations to the test

August 2004 - At photokina 2004, visitors seeking to experience the future of digital imaging either in business or the home, should ensure the EPSON stand is at the top of their list.

As well as demonstrating its comprehensive range of digital imaging products for the home and the office, EPSON is launching the EPSON P-2000 Photo Viewer, a portable media player that stores, organises and plays back digital photos, movies and music. It is also launching the EPSON L500, a combined digital camera and image viewer.

For the professional and advanced amateur photographers there is also the opportunity to see the new EPSON F-3200, dedicated film scanner.

The EPSON booth is divided into three key areas:

Consumer
In the consumer area EPSON will demonstrate its digital imaging solutions for the home. Products include PictureMate, the personal photo-lab, and the PictureMate with Bluetooth option which prints photos from camera-phones. There is also the opportunity to see the new EPSON Photoviewer, digital camera, all-in-one devices and scanners.

Demonstrations will range from CD printing, photo printing, printing from memory cards, printing via Bluetooth, plus demonstrations of film and slide scanning and photo restoration. 

Pro photo
The pro photo area will include the EPSON Stylus Photo R800, an A4 printer that sets a new benchmark for outstanding quality photographic prints thanks to EPSON UltraChrome Hi-Gloss ink technology.  It will also feature the newly launched EPSON F-3200 dedicated film scanner.

Further demonstrations of the latest in professional photography will feature the EPSON R-D1 rangefinder digital camera, which combines innovative digital technology with traditional photography.

Professional / Graphics
The professional area is dedicated to the professional printing and graphics market, and features two live photo-studios.  The first area will show a high-end commercial/fine art studio where professional photographers will offer visitors the opportunity to experience first-hand a variety of stages in the commercial digital imaging process. 

The second area will be a professional portrait studio, also staffed by professional photographers.  Demonstrations will include portrait production, colour management workflow for photographers, professional scanning, album production, scan to print solutions, photo and fine art media.

The EPSON stand will also feature a central gallery with samples from the R-D1 rangefinder camera. 

To further demonstrate EPSON’s commitment to the future of digital imaging it has partnered with many of the leading digital camera manufacturers and camera phone vendors to show how these products will work in conjunction with EPSON digital imaging products.  Partners products on the EPSON stand include: Olympus, Casio, Pentax, Nikon, Minolta, Panasonic, Leica, Fuji, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Siemens and Motorola.
