EpsonEpson UK Press Release

21st August 2006 – Epson, the digital imaging pioneer, will display and demonstrate the latest in photo printing, photo display and projection at Photokina 2006.  The Epson booth is designed to ensure that there is something to interest you, whether you are a professional or amateur photographer, a scrapbooker, starting out in home photo printing or even a home cinema enthusiast. Epson will also host a press conference at Photokina on the 25th September at 16.00 in the Europasaal.  It will discuss Epson’s business strategy and latest technology innovations for the photo industry and launch its latest products for the professional and consumer photo markets.

Professional photo
The professional printing and graphics area on Epson’s stand features three live studio set-ups for commercial and portrait photography and fine art printing.  Each highlights the role Epson technology plays in these environments.  In addition to its UltraChrome™ K3 large format printers, Epson will demonstrate its range of software applications aimed at the busy photographic studio.  Applications include: Epson AlbumMaker to turn photos into a wide range of creative products such as personalised albums, posters and calendars; Epson CopyFactory, ideal for enlarging photos, graphics and reprographics; ColorBase software for consistent results from print to print and from printer to printer and Epson Stylus RIP Professional for workflow and colour management control.

In addition, professional and semi-professional photographers can test Epson’s Multimedia Storage Viewers featuring 80GB storage capacity for image backup as well as Epson’s market leading Photo Fine screen.

There is also a photo gallery so you can appreciate the creativity and skill behind the photos while also examining the quality of output from Epson UltraChrome K3 ink technology.

Consumer photo
Whether you want to print from your computer, directly from your digital camera memory card or mobile phone camera there is a demonstration to meet your needs.  Epson will demonstrate its full range of home photo printers, including its 4x6 inch dedicated photo printers for easy home photo printing, six-colour all-in-ones if you need your own home photo bureau and six colour photo inkjets for flexible printing up to A4.

Epson is also dedicating a section of its booth to scrapbooking so if you are considering documenting your family history or are a scrapbooking hobbyist, Epson is displaying a range of paper, printers and ideas to help you make your albums fun for generations to come.

Debuting at Photokina is Epson’s new scanner range, the Perfection V10, V100 and V350.  All three models incorporate the premium quality scanning that is typically associated with Epson’s unique Matrix CCD technology into a new slim design.

Home Cinema
Epson will also demonstrate its latest projector line-up for both business and home cinema.  If you wish to watch movies, project premium quality photo slide shows or business presentations, Epson projectors will deliver a big screen up to 60 inches wide from just 1.5 metres away.  As a manufacturer of the Three Panel Liquid Crystal Display (3LCD panel) all Epson projectors feature its premium projector technology.  3LCD projectors deliver bright and vivid images, true-to-life colours and faithfully reproduced images.

Marc Tinkler, Epson Europe says, “The Epson booth at Photokina has become renowned over the years as a hub of photo and projection activity.  We are set to increase this reputation with the new range of innovative products being demonstrated on our booth.  It has been specially built with our customers in mind from professional photographers to those new to digital photo printing.
