Epson’s new Stylus SX200 and SX400 Series represent an evolution in home printing – offering cost-effective printer, scanner and copier functionality in a stylish and compact unit.

19th May 2008 – Pioneer of home printing technology, Epson has today announced the launch of its new Stylus SX200 and SX400 Series – all-in-one printers that look as good as they print. Packaged within a stylish and contemporary black design that characterise the Epson Stylus range, Epson’s innovative technology ensures the Stylus SX200 and SX400 Series deliver exceptional quality, speed and versatility to meet the demands of the modern home.

All the new models in the Stylus SX200 and SX400 series have a small footprint to optimise space efficiency in the home.  They feature individual ink cartridges for cost-efficient printing as consumers only need to replace the colour they use, minimising ink wastage. The Epson Stylus SX200 and SX400 Series use Epson DURABrite™ Ultra Ink which is an advanced pigment-based technology that encapsulates the ink particles in a protective resin coating.  This makes the ink resistant to water, smudging and fading and provides superb text and lab-quality photos, which can last up to 200 years when stored in a photo album .

Both the SX200 and SX400 Series cater for the increasing popularity of digital photography by offering PC-free printing capabilities via the built-in memory card slots, or PictBridge. To further enhance photo-functionality, the SX400 Series includes a 6.3cm crystal-clear LCD viewer to simplify navigation of print options and to view photos before printing.

Time efficiency has also been considered by Epson and the Stylus SX200 and SX400 Series are able to print black and white and colour documents at up to 34 pages per minute.

Both models feature Epson PhotoEnhance technology, enabling users to get the best out of their photos. Images featuring skin tones, landscapes and skylines are detected automatically and reproduced with enhanced colour settings to improve the overall tones and contrasts. Also included is Epson Easy Photo Print, which makes it easy to remove red-eye. 

The Stylus SX200 and SX400 Series’ integral 1200dpi scanner delivers fast, high-quality scanning of both images and text documents. It is easy to make stand-alone copies or scan via the PC, and with Epson Easy Photo Fix™ you can restore colour, remove dust and correct backlight on faded or old scanned photos. Also included is ABBYY FineReader® Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software, which makes it easy to scan and edit text documents.
