Eye-Fi integrates Devicescape’s Easy WiFI to Expand Hotspot Access Worldwide

London, UK, 14 June 2010 - Eye-Fi Inc., makers of the world’s first wireless memory card for digital cameras, today announces an expanded Wi-Fi hotspot plan for users of its X2 family of cards.

Through a partnership with Devicescape, Eye-Fi customers in Europe will now be able to use their Explore X2 and Pro X2 cards with a personal subscription to a Wi-Fi hotspot provider, such as Boingo, BT Openzone, T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone and SFR. Users at schools and universities can now add supported campus Wi-Fi network credentials to their Eye-Fi account as well.  Users will also be able to connect to many open and free hotspots, as the card will automatically navigate through certain log-in procedures.

Jef Holove, CEO of Eye-Fi Inc., commented: “People choose Eye-Fi cards because of their ease-of-use, and now with our hotspot expansion programme, customers can make on-the-go uploads from their camera to hundreds of thousands of Wi-Fi networks around the world. With each provider’s subscription counting as a single gateway to thousands of hotspot sites, there is expansive hotspot coverage available across Europe, so memories really can be shared wherever you are.”
