EyeEm has announced the 2016 EyeEm Awards, its annual global competition for up-and-coming talents to get exhibited, published and seen by leading editors and curators. Photographers have five weeks to submit in five categories: The Portraitist, The Architect, The Great Outdoors, The Photojournalist and The Street Photographer. Winners will be announced at the 2016 EyeEm Festival on August 27 in Berlin, and get published in EyeEm’s annual New Talent publication. The grand prize winner will be named EyeEm Photographer of the Year and win a round-trip ticket to Berlin to attend the 2016 EyeEm Festival. Anyone can enter the Awards via the free EyeEm iOS and Android app and web interface. It’s free to submit and photographers are encouraged to submit as many photos as they choose. The submission deadline is 5 June 2016. As always, we suggest that you read the rules before entering your work.

Announcing the 2016 EyeEm Awards

Enter the world’s largest photography competition for the chance to get published and win a trip to Berlin

May 2, 2016 Photography community and marketplace EyeEm today announced the 2016 EyeEm Awards, its annual global competition for up-and-coming talents to get exhibited, published and seen by leading artists, editors and curators. Ten winners will be selected plus one grand prize winner who will be named EyeEm Photographer of the Year and win a round-trip ticket to Berlin to attend the 2016 EyeEm Festival.

Receiving over 200,000 entries in 2015, the EyeEm Awards are the largest photography awards for new talents to get discovered.

“A new generation of talents is evolving in photography right now: selfeducated, agile, shooting with any device at hand,” said EyeEm’s VP Community Severin Matusek. “They tell today’s stories through authentic, raw and surprising photographs. Our mission is to discover these talents and continuously support them together with our international jury of established photography leaders.”

Photographers have five weeks to submit in five categories: The Portraitist, The Architect, The Great Outdoors, The Photojournalist and The Street Photographer. Winners will be announced at the 2016 EyeEm Festival on August 27 in Berlin, and get published in EyeEm’s annual New Talent publication distributed via selected partners around the world.

The EyeEm Photographer of the Year will receive mentorship from renowned photographers with the aim to kickstart their career and enter the professional realm. Previous winners David

Uzochukwu and Porter Yates received international acclaim, got published and signed contracts with photo agencies.

An international jury of photo editors, curators and photographers will judge the entries. This year’s jury includes:
