ZeissImages.com, the recently launched online photo gallery of images captured with Zeiss lenses, has just announced its first photo contest. The theme is “As seen through your eyes”, and there are five categories - Landscape, Glamor, People, Nature and City/Architecture. ZeissImages.com members can submit up to 3 photographs per category.There are no fees or exchange of services required to participate in the contest, but it is mandatory that photographs submitted be taken with a Zeiss lens. The deadline for submissions is 1 August 2010.

First Annual ZeissImages.com Photo Contest

Zeiss Images is pleased to announce the much anticipated photography contest which will award a brand new Zeiss 50mm Planar in either ZF2, ZE or ZS mount to the lucky winner. The prize lens will be provided by Zeiss. Their generosity is greatly appreciated.

The theme this year will be, “As seen through your eyes”. This theme will allow the photographer to express his or her vision without restricting the creative ability.

You can submit up to 3 photographs per category to the following categories. Landscape, Glamor, People, Nature and City/Architecture. These categories will be created later for submission of photographs. Do not submit them to the regular gallery categories with similar names. Upload photos via the gallery home page. Just put them in the appropriate category when uploaded.

A panel of judges will consist of individuals from two respected companies serving the global photographic community for many years. Popflash.com in the United States and RoberWhite.co.uk in Great Britain. The judges will review the photographs submitted and select the finalists from each category based on creativity, quality and originality. Each of these finalists will then be grouped into one final category where the winning photograph will be selected based on the same criteria used for the finalists selection.

This contest is an opportunity for photographers to showcase their photographs taken with Zeiss lenses. There are no fees or exchange of services required to participate in the contest. This is simply a way for ZeissImages.com to show its appreciation for members using the site free of charge. However, we will be showcasing the winners artwork on the site.

We ask that you follow these basic rules and guidelines:

The contest is open to ZeissImages.com members only.
All photographs submitted must have been captured with a Zeiss lens.
You agree that yo are the sole owner of the photograph submitted and are obeying copyright protection laws.
You can submit up to 3 photographs per category.
You can update, delete or add new photographs as long as it is done before the deadline date

Deadline for submissions are Aug 1st, 2010.

Prizes are as follow:

First place - Zeiss 50mm f1.4 Planar in ZF2, ZE or ZS mount. Courtesy of Zeiss.
Second place - Lowepro camera bag. Model yet to be determined.
Third place - An 8 gig Compact or SD card.
