An Original and Free New Website for Photographers Launches

FocalPoint Daily, a website offering a free new service for all those interested in photography and digital imaging launches this week. FocalPoint Daily is an independent site that chooses and posts the most important photography-related stories from across the web in the categories of News, Ideas, Reviews and Tools, Tips and Technology. The team sifts a carefully chosen list of around 300 sites daily during the working week.

FocalPoint Daily is run by photographers for photographers. The site has been founded by Graham McLaren, a Bristol based lecturer and photography enthusiast who recognised the need for a reliable site that linked photographers to high quality web resources. A member of the Royal Photographic Society, Graham has been an active photographer since his late teens. He specialises in landscape photography, with a particular interest in producing black and white toned prints that concentrate upon Mankind’s impact on the environment. Graham says:

“The web is a vast resource for photographers. We are living through a very exciting time for all those interested in imaging as technology brings new possibilities and new ways of thinking about the photographic image to us. The problem for photographers is sorting the wheat from the chaff of web resources in order to make the most of the Internet as a source of information about these developments. FocalPoint Daily aims to help them by providing a constantly updated review of the best and the brightest material being made available in this area.”

The FocalPoint Daily team have exciting plans for the future development of the site. Within the next two months an iPhone App will be launched that will allow photographers access to the latest, high quality news in their area ‘on the go’. In the meantime the team is delighted to hear from commercial partners and from those with suggestions regarding new sites to link to.
