ACD Systems Launches FotoSlate™ 4 Photo Print Studio

New Photo Wizards and Scrapbook-Style Templates Provide Unlimited Creative Possibilities for Preserving and Sharing Memories

VICTORIA, British Columbia – June 1, 2005 – ACD Systems International Inc. (TSX: ASA), makers of ACDSee™ photo management software and Canvas™ technical illustration software, announced today the launch of FotoSlate 4 Photo Print Studio, the newest version of its award-winning photo printing software for photo and scrapbooking enthusiasts. Using ACD’s industry-leading digital imaging experience, FotoSlate 4 Photo Print Studio provides users with a digital craft room to construct page layouts, sort photos, apply quick edits and special effects, and print high-quality photos.

FotoSlate’s new photo album wizards and frame templates allow users to design and experiment with unlimited photo and scrapbook-style page layouts. New image templates can turn simple photos into dramatic vignettes using star, heart, ovals and circular shapes for easy layout placement. These popular shapes can also be used as stand-alone journaling templates. FotoSlate’s customizable calendar wizard provides users with the flexibility to personalize calendars by adding birthdays, anniversaries or even fun comments.

New menu options in FotoSlate make it easier for users to manage and sort photos by name, size, type or date.  The program also reduces the need to search for duplicate images in a specific project. Once an image is selected, FotoSlate creates an overlay that marks all images used for that specific layout.

FotoSlate enables users to add dimension and customize page backgrounds by adding different colors, textures or images. The program’s innovative free-hand rotating feature effortlessly adds dynamic effects to projects. Users can then save their favorite creative projects or layout concepts as PDF documents for future reference or to share with others.

“ACD Systems recognizes the continuing growth rate of at-home printing,” says Doug Vandekerkhove, chairman, chief executive officer and president of ACD Systems. “We design products, such as FotoSlate 4 Photo Print Studio, that provide at-home users with easy and flexible tools to create professional and memorable results.”

James Latham, now responsible for marketing at ACD Systems, adds, “This product is the latest in our series of targeted digital photo-oriented concepts extending the capabilities of photo enthusiasts, and complementing our strong ACDSee user base.”
