Fujifilm has updated its X-System Lens Roadmap with the addition of two new lenses, the 150-600mm and 18-200mm.

Slated for release sometime in 2022, the 150-600mm super-telephoto zoom will offer an effective focal range of 229-914mm in 35mm terms. It will be a "red badge" zoom lens complete with a removable tripod collar/mount.

The new 18-200mm is aimed squarely at videographers who want an all-in-one zoom, offering an effective focal range of 27-183mm in 35mm terms.

Fujifilm unveils the latest development roadmap for interchangeable lenses for the X Series of mirrorless digital cameras

Adding two new lenses and two under development to create a 40-lens lineup for the X Mount to establish the X Series into a comprehensive system that continues to evolve

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Teiichi Goto) has unveiled the latest development roadmap for interchangeable lenses for its mirrorless digital cameras. The company has been actively and continuously introducing new interchangeable lenses for use on the X Series of digital cameras to reinforce the lineup, thus offering comprehensive coverage in focal lengths from ultra-wide angle to ultra-telephoto.

Today, Fujifilm has also announced the release of “FUJINON Lens XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR” and “FUJINON Lens XF23mmF1.4 R LM WR.” These two lenses join “FUJINON Lens XF18mmF1.4 R LM WR,” released in May, to form a series of large-aperture prime lenses, offering ultra-high resolution capability to accommodate future cameras with higher-resolution sensors to be able to capture even the finest of details.

The first lens to be added is the XF18-120mm zoom lens (equivalent to 27-183mm in the 35mm film format), designed to cater to the growing needs for video lenses. It is to become the first XF lens that provides a function facilitating one-person shooting of full-scale video, catering to the comprehensive needs of today’s camera users in both stills and videos.

Another zoom lens to be added to the roadmap is the XF150-600mm (equivalent to 229-914mm in the 35mm film format), an ultra-telephoto zoom that extends to the Series’ longest focal distance among zoom lenses. This would be a perfect choice in situations that require a long focal distance, such as wildlife photography and sports photography. Its compact and lightweight design, one of the benefits of the X Mount, makes the lens highly portable and easy to hand-hold to allow users to explore new territories in their photography.

The latest announcement lists a total of 40 interchangeable lenses for the X Series. Fujifilm will continue to enhance the lineup to address users’ diverse photography needs and broaden their enjoyment of photography.
