Impossible introduce a bespoke camera bag in collaboration with Berlin brand Hänska

Impossible and handbag designer Nora Hänska have created a modern, stylish, adaptable solution to travelling with your  Polaroid camera.

Berlin-born Hänska places strong emphasis on hand-crafted designs and is no stranger to the painstaking production and testing methods Impossible employs when producing analog film. For both Hänska and Impossible, being as close to the production line as possible is key to ensuring quality and consistency.

The Hänska X Impossible collaboration was born from a shared desire to create something useful yet beautiful for the everyday urban instant photographer. This first bag has been designed to safely store a Polaroid 600-type camera or Impossible Instant Lab and up to four packs of Impossible film.

The bags are robust and strong, intended mostly for outdoor use, but still stylish.

It was the vibrant and youthful atmosphere of the German capital that inspired Hänska’s design of the custom bag. “It was important for me to design a bag that was not ‘just’ a camera bag…It had to be easy and quick to use to allow the user to embrace every moment.” Nora Hänska says.

All the materials Hänska uses are sourced from Germany and France. The body of the bag is made with high-grade aryl, a fabric used to construct boat sails. It is 100% water repellent. The fabric form features a detachable leather-embossed strap, and can be worn as a pouch, sling or cross-body bag.

Leather was chosen to balance the high-tech element of the Impossible camera, and evoke a sense of nostalgia, representing the way the designer feels when observing an instant photograph. Within the taupe lining is a concealed inner pocket — the ideal hiding place to store your photos whilst they are developing.

Much like Impossible film, the hand-crafted nature of the Hänska bag production processes means that there will always be slight variations between batches. Every handmade Hänska bag is as unique as every shot you take with Impossible film.

The Hänska x Impossible is available now from the Impossible shop and selected retailers for EUR 100.
