Hama have launched a new universal charger with an LCD display. According to the company, the Hama Delta Ovum will charge just about any lithium-ion battery (3.6V/3.7V/7.2V/7.4V) and NiMH (AA/AAA) battery available today. The device automatically detects the voltage and polarity of Li-ion batteries, and cuts off when charging is completed. The LCD function display shows the current charge level of the batteries. Not at all choosy when it comes to rechargeables

It’s the dark side of the digital era: charging device mayhem. Battery chargers by the bucketful, for mobiles, navigation systems, double-A batteries, triple-A batteries, camcorders, cameras, lying around all over the house.

So photography buffs, especially, will be pleased to hear about Hama’s solution to bring order to the energy storage chaos: the universal charging station for just about any lithium-ion/Li-ion battery (3.6V/3.7V/7.2V/7.4V) or nickel-metal hydride/NiMH (AA/AAA) battery there is. Of course it automatically detects the voltage and polarity of Li-ion batteries, just like it automatically stops charging at full.

And to ensure that any battery fits, it has a sliding cover and springloaded contacts to hold the battery in place while it charges. The LCD function display shows the current charge level of the batteries.

The 12 V cable provided means that the charger can be used even in the car, and the integrated USB connection allows you to charge smartphones and GPS devices via USB cable. The power supply can take anything from 100 to 240 V, and thus can be used just about anywhere in the world.
