Press Release

NEW from Light & Land: Highway 1, USA - 28 May to 8 June 2012

16 December 2011

Light & Land is branching out to offer a brand new ‘journey of a lifetime’ photography tour along one of the most stunning and dramatic coastlines in the USA - Highway 1: The Famous Pacific Coast Highway.

Led by tour leader Antony Spencer (2010 Landscape Photographer of the year outright winner), together with one of the best known US landscape photography teachers and resident Justin Reznick, the journey will begin in San Francisco before heading south to Santa Cruz to visit the magnificent rock arches of Bridges State Park.

This tour is a truly epic ‘journey’ with a huge range of photographic subjects on offer – from coastline to cityscapes, rain forests and redwoods, to creeks and waterfalls.

The tour will continue up the coastline to Trinidad for more ocean based photography, before moving on to the phenomenal Redwoods National Park.  The tour is timed to visit the Redwoods when the forests should be filled with a stunning display of rhododendrons, as well as atmospheric mists, often found in these areas during the first weeks of June.

The journey will then leave California, continuing on to the Oregon coast – for more fabulous beaches, many with stunningly shaped bleached wood along with sea stacks scattered along the shore, before finishing up in the Evergreen State – Washington.

As well as epic coastal locations, here our guests will have the opportunity to explore the ancient temperate rainforests, creeks and dramatic waterfalls.  There will also be the chance to photograph the breathtaking views from Hurricane Ridge, high up into the Olympic Mountains;  one of the all time iconic landscape settings.

How many tours can offer this variety of photography?  The premier tour will run from 28th May to 8th June 2012 with places limited to 10 guests to ensure the very best photographic tuition and attention at all times.

In the experienced hands of ‘Landscape Photographer of the Year’ Antony Spencer who has visited this area many times since childhood alongside the hugely experience American landscape photographer Justin Reznick – this really is the photographic journey of a lifetime.
