HP Deskjet 5940 Photo Printer Announced
HP Press Release
The Everyday Printer that Enjoys Printing Photos - From impressive photos to high speed everyday printing, the HP Deskjet 5940 Photo Printer meets the needs of the whole family
HP today announced the launch of the HP Deskjet 5940 Photo Printer, a versatile, all round device designed for families who want to print everything quickly, from high quality photos to documents –
and anything in between.
The HP Deskjet 5940 Photo Printer provides outstanding versatility at breakthrough speeds, with documents produced at up to 30 pages per minute (ppm) in black and 24 ppm in colour, making the printer ideal for families who need to print documents quickly. Users can print on a range of paper types and sizes to complete a wide variety of tasks, from web pages and school projects to greeting cards and address labels.
The HP Deskjet 5940 Photo Printer has high performance capabilities with a100-sheet paper tray that folds up neatly when not in use. There’s also a convenient front panel ‘print cancel’ button which immediately stops print jobs to save time and ink. In addition, the printer features a useful ink backup mode, an automatic paper type sensor which optimises printing according to the paper loaded and an ink level indicator to alert users when ink is running low.
As its name suggests, it’s in photo printing that the HP Deskjet 5940 Photo Printer really comes into its own. The user will achieve impressive photo results in as fast as 27 seconds by using the black and tri-colour cartridge or the tri-colour and photo cartridge for photos that will resist fading for generations1. As a special promotion for a limited time, a photo cartridge will be included in the
printer along with the black and tri-colour inkjet print cartridges.
The HP Deskjet 5940 Photo Printer boasts a number of convenient features including a front port for PictBridge-enabled cameras and HP Real Life technologies for applications such as automatic red-eye removal and adaptive lighting. This tool can also be used to reveal detail previously lost in shadowy or poorly lit areas of photos, whilst HP Image Zone enables users to edit their photos quickly and easily using their PC.
The HP Deskjet 5940 Photo Printer will handle any standard photo paper size, including 10 x 15 cm, 13 x 18 cm and 10 x 30 cm, right up to large panorama (215 x 610 mm), and HP’s new photo packs allow photo printing from as little as £0.23 2.
Whether print requirements range from a few quick pages to producing photos to share with friends or family, the HP Deskjet 5940 Photo Printer provides families with a practical, versatile solution.
The HP Deskjet 5940 Photo Printer will be available from September 15 2005 at a recommended street price of £79.99 (actual prices may vary).
