HP Photosmart R927DIWA member and Norwegian website Digit.no have just published their review of the new top of the range 8 megapixel HP Photosmart R927 digital camera.

“The camera has numerous benefits over its predecessors, such as 8.2 MP image resolution, a bright 3” LCD screen with high resolution and wide viewing angle, improved red eye removal technology and a number of options for artistic after-effects. On the other hand, the R927 also has some annoying flaws and design issues. Its stainless steel casing is slippery, there is no optical viewfinder, the battery locking device is a joke, the AF system is less sensitive than before and the AF lamp has virtually no effect. Although the ISO speed is limited to 100-400, colour fringing is quite disturbing, and the macro capacity is rather poor, the R927 delivers surprisingly good overall image quality. The lens’ resolving power, sharpness, distorsion and vignetting is surprisingly good, the colour rendition is excellent and there is virtually no visible noise, even at ISO 400.”
