IGPOTY Exhibition and Book to be Unveiled at Kew

On 15th February, an exhibition of exquisite images from International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) awards will be unveiled at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The exhibition, which is located in the Nash Conservatory, runs until  30th March. Entry to the exhibition is included in the entry ticket to the gardens. The book, International Garden Photographer of the Year: Collection 7, will also be on sale in the Kew shop. The 2014 competition, which has a total cash prize fund of £13,000; also opens on 15th February.

International Garden Photographer of the Year Exhibition and Book to be Unveiled at Kew

An exhibition of exquisite images from International Garden Photographer of the Year awards will be unveiled at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew on 15th February, alongside a brand new book showcasing the best garden and plant photography from around the world.  

The exhibition, which is located in the Nash Conservatory, runs until the 30th March.  Entry to the exhibition is included in the entry ticket to the gardens - see the Kew website for opening times.

The book, International Garden Photographer of the Year: Collection 7, is a beautiful selection of the images from the winners, finalists, commended and highly commended images from competition.  The book will also be on sale in the Kew shop and online bookshops.

And it's not just flowers!  Inspired by the world of plants and gardens, the winning images range from the breathtaking delicacy of close up plants, to the broad sweep of wildflower landscapes, from the homely vegetable to mighty forests and from urban cityscapes, to rural idyll.

IGPOTY continues to be the premium competition for garden and plant photography with entries from all around the world - open to all ages, amateurs and professionals alike, with a Young Garden Photographer of the Year award for under 16s.

There's even a category called New Shoots, for those who have not entered the competition in the previous 3 years - designed to encourage photographers who have only recently been inspired by the world of garden and plant photography.

Every single person to enters IGPOTY is also eligible for personal feedback by the judges, on their picture, included in the entry fee.

The IGPOTY exhibition, which launches at Kew, also tours the UK and worldwide including Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney, several National Trust properties plus venues across Europe!

International Garden Photographer of the Year has a total cash prize fund of £13,000 and entries for the 2014 competition also open on 15th February - so if you're looking for inspiration, pop along to see the exhibition or pick up a copy of the book!
