International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) is reminding interested photographers that the deadline for submissions for the Summer edition of its 4Seasons competition is 31st August. The 4Seasons summer category theme for this year is ‘Weather Eye’ – a theme designed to encourage photographers to explore the different aspects of weather that are essential for plant growth.The winner of the 4Seasons category wins a cash prize of £500 and a copy of the latest IGPOTY book, ‘International Garden Photographer of the Year Collection 4’ (published in May 2011). Entries cost £10 for 4 images and can be made online at the website below.

The fifth International Garden Photographer of the Year competition is calling for entries for its themed 4Seasons competition

The 4Seasons summer category theme for this year is ‘Weather Eye’ – a theme designed to encourage photographers to explore the different aspects of weather that are essential for plant growth. The weather can also be instrumental in creating a unique photograph – making the difference between an ordinary picture and something truly extraordinary!
Whatever the weather, where ever you are, IGPOTY judges are looking for photographs that have special atmosphere and depth created by the weather.

INTERNATIONAL GARDEN PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR TRAVELS TO AUSTRALIA AND PORTUGAL!
For the first time a special selection of images from the fourth IGPOTY exhibition will be on display at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, from the 11th August to the 28th August.
The exhibition comprises of over 60 stunning images, featuring many of the Australian photographers who were successful in the latest IGPOTY competition. The exhibition is presented by the Friends of the Botanic Gardens.

A unique collection of International Garden Photographer of the Year images is to be exhibited at the Monserrate Palace in Portugal from 15th September to 27th November 2011.
The Monserrate Palace is one of the stunning historical sites within the Parques de Sintra, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Portugal. The Palace was built by Englishman Francis Cook in the nineteenth century. It is situated within its own grounds and parkland, which is also home to one of the richest botanical gardens in Portugal.
