Press Release
Time is running out for the spring seasonal competition! Make the most of the glorious spring weather and enjoy some photography!
The theme for the spring seasonal competition is ‘Spring into Life’. IGPOTY is looking for originality and images that explore spring themes such as energy, growth and colour from around the world. Supported by Landscape Juice.
Deadline for entries is 31st May 2010. All entries will also automatically go through to the main IGPOTY competition at the end of the year.
The spring seasonal competition is part of IGPOTY’s brand new format – ‘4 Seasons’ – four seasonal competitions, based on specific themes, which allows photographers to win cash prizes throughout the year as well as gain judging points that can help them win the overall IGPOTY title.
“The 4 Seasons competitions will widen the pool of people who can win prizes and recognition for their photography” says organizer Philip Smith.
The IGPOTY competition provides a treasure trove of ideas and inspiration for both aspiring and expert photographers who are encouraged, no matter what their level of experience, to enter this year’s competition. Exciting prizes include a top cash award for the main competition of £5,000. Every entrant will benefit just from taking part as they will have access to a series of workshops and talks, online critiques of their photographs on request, plus ‘top tips’ available as downloads from the website - www.igpoty.com. The competition culminates in a stunning exhibition at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew - www.kew.org
A limited number of spaces are still available for a photographic seminar in association with IGPOTY, Amateur Photographer and What Digital Camera. Clive Nichols, one of the IGPOTY’s judges, is hosting the seminar in June and will be discussing ‘how to take award-winning garden and plant photographs’.
