International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) is reminding interested photographers that the submission deadline for its summer seasonal competition is 31st August. The summer seasonal competition is part of IGPOTY’s new format – ‘4 Seasons’ – four seasonal competitions, based on specific themes, which allows photographers to win cash prizes throughout the year as well as gain judging points that can help them win the overall IGPOTY title. The theme for the summer seasonal competition is ‘Insect Beauties’. IGPOTY is looking for originality and images that reveal the secret life of micro-creatures in gardens from around the world. International Garden Photographer of the Year’s summer seasonal competition deadline soon!

Time is running out for the summer 4 Seasons competition! Make the most of the sunshine and enjoy some photography!

The theme for the summer seasonal competition is ‘Insect Beauties’. IGPOTY is looking for originality and images that reveal the secret life of micro-creatures in gardens from around the world. Supported by Landscape Juice.

Deadline for entries is 31st August 2010. All entries will also automatically go through to the main IGPOTY competition at the end of the year.

“Insects are fascinating and many of us enjoy the challenge of a photo-safari in the garden! We have got top tips from wildlife photographer Heather Angel on our website to help inexperienced photographers. It is amazing what we can discover through the camera lens!” says organizer Philip Smith.

The IGPOTY competition provides a treasure trove of ideas and inspiration for both aspiring and expert photographers who are encouraged, no matter what their level of experience, to enter this year’s competition. Exciting prizes include a top cash award for the main competition of £5,000. Every entrant will benefit just from taking part as they will have access to a series of workshops and talks, online critiques of their photographs on request, plus ‘top tips’ available as downloads from the website - www.igpoty.com.
