Just in time for bewitching Halloween party portraits, Impossible has today released its long-promised Color 600, SX-70 and Spectra/Image Black Frame films.

Black frames enhance the tones and contrast of color film in unexpected ways and longtime fans of Impossible have been asking the Berlin-based company to create them across the entire range of Polaroid-format color films. Black frame color films are yet another dynamic alternative to the ‘standard’ square white frame made famous by Polaroid. They are a stylish addition to a film line-up that includes the iconic white frame, along with gold, silver, a variety of colors, tropical florals and animal skins.

This is the first time that the company has delivered a new edition frame color simultaneously across all three classic Polaroid film formats. The slick matt finish of the black frame not only instills an undeniably contemporary edge, but also adds depth and presence to the tonal range within the color film emulsion itself. 

Impossible Color 600, SX-70 and Image/Spectra Black Frame films follow close on the heels of the recent launch of Impossible Cyan 600 Monochrome and Magenta 600 Monochrome, underscoring the company's focus on experimental instant film materials which reflect visual trends as well as its commitment to an inspired re-engineering of analog instant photography for a digital generation.

Impossible Color Film Black Frames are suitable for use with any Polaroid SX-70, 600,or Image/Spectra camera as well as Impossible Instant Lab which enables digital images on a smartphone or tablet to be converted into real instant photographs.
