Impossible Instant Nights

‘Impossible Instant Nights’ is a monthly event dedicated to all things instant photography, hosted at London gallery and members club Lights of Soho (35 Brewer Street, W1F 0RX). “These evenings provide an open inclusive forum for anyone with an interest in instant photography to share ideas and inspiration, while learning from experts in the field,” said Oskar Smolokowski, Impossible’s CEO. “We’re planning talks and workshops covering all aspects of the art form, based on a series of ever-changing themes.” The first event in the series takes place on Thursday, July 21st, with a talk by photographer Ray Liu. Ray will talk about how he created a series of stunning light trail shots when he took his Impossible I-1 instant film camera to the streets of London at night. Do note that places are limited, and advance registration is required.

THE IMPOSSIBLE PROJECT KICKS OFF THEIR ‘INSTANT NIGHTS’ EVENT SERIES AT LIGHTS OF SOHO IN LONDON
A monthly event series for London’s instant photo community begins with a guide to shooting light trails, by photographer Ray Liu
July 12th, 2016 -- 2016 has already been a pivotal year for the Impossible Project. Eight years after rescuing and refurbishing the last Polaroid factory, the company released their first instant camera, the I-1, in May 2016. In the same month they introduced a new color instant film that develops twice as fast as their previous formula. Now, at a moment when instant photography is experiencing a renaissance, Impossible is launching a new monthly event series in London, starting July 21st.
‘Impossible Instant Nights’ is a monthly evening dedicated to all things instant photography, hosted at London gallery and members club Lights of Soho. “These evenings provide an open inclusive forum for anyone with an interest in instant photography to share ideas and inspiration, while learning from experts in the field,” said Oskar Smolokowski, Impossible’s CEO. “We’re planning talks and workshops covering all aspects of the art form, based on a series of ever-changing themes.”
The first event in the series takes place on Thursday, July 21st, with a talk by photographer Ray Liu. Liu will share how he created a series of stunning light trail shots when he took his I-1 camera to the streets of London at night. Before the launch of the I-1, which gives photographers full manual control, such shots had never been achieved with an instant camera. There’ll also be music, and drinks provided by Bulldog Gin, for visitors to enjoy in Lights of Soho’s uniquely designed gallery space.
