imsense upgrades imphoto for iPhone applications, iPad display
Setting new standards in photo quality
Cambridge, UK
April 9th 2010
imsense, the award-winning Cambridge computer vision company, has released a significant upgrade to its imphoto iPhone applications.
imphoto has been a featured app in Apple’s App Store during the last quarter and was shortlisted in «LeMobile 2.0» application prizewinners. For new users and the nearly 100,000 existing users of imphoto, the new versions of both Standard and Pro editions will provide significant improvements:
· New standards in quality and colour accuracy (in both standard and Pro editions)
· Improved output options with an «Extreme Quality» mode for Pro edition
· Increased export size for optimal display on iPad and optional watermark in standard edition
A new version of the eye-fidelity™ engine is included in both versions. It features a fourfold improvement in image analysis and color accuracy, at no detriment in terms of speed.
For those users of the Pro edition who want to take iPhone photos to an even further level of quality, imphoto now offers an Extreme Quality option, which gives unprecedented local contrast refinements at save/share time, delivering further crispness in your images.
For many users a great benefit of imphoto for iPhone is its easy sharing options of the processed photo to social network sites. Facebook/Twitter output size has increased to 720 pixels max to match recently updated Facebook resizing policy, while the Save and Email output size in imphoto standard has increased by 40% and is now 1024x768 to match the iPad display.
By popular request, it is now possible to remove the watermark from the processed photos. For standard edition users this is just an on/off option; customising the watermark with a personalised copyright message remains a feature within imphoto Pro.
Commenting on the upgrades, Philippe Dewost, CEO imsense, said “imphoto 2.5 is imsense’s best mobile application ever. We have listened to our user base, and packed our most advanced imaging technology into our streamlined, easy to use page flow interface to deliver the best solution for every iPhone user to shoot, reveal, and share their pictures in a few clicks, and effortlessly. We’re delighted with the sales of the imphoto app since its launch at the end of last year and hope that this upgrade will bring significant benefits to existing users as well as to new users of the product.”
The application retails at $1.99 for the standard edition and $5.99 for the pro edition and is available now in the App Store.
