Innova Art – more than paper – relaunches in China
The multi-award-winning Innova Art – the first UK-based inkjet media specialist founded this century – is relaunching its brand in China, surely the world’s most exciting marketplace.
The move reintroduces to the Chinese print market a range of digital fine art and photo media originally introduced to the market via Innova’s private label service more than ten years ago. A range of inkjet fine art and photo media that has been developed in close association with artists, photographers and print experts – and a brand that has won rave reviews and awards from all around the world.
The Innova Art brand: tradition and technological prowess Why choose Innova Art? Because Innova Art brings together both the centuries-old traditions of fine art papermaking and the dynamism of 21st century digital technology. Customers love the fusion of new, cutting edge ideas with methods honed over centuries.
"You can’t cheat on history and you can’t fake tradition," says Wayne Connelly, MD of Innova Art. "Papermaking, which originated in ancient China, is one of the world’s oldest technologies, and the established ways of doing things have helped refine and enrich the product for more than a thousand years."
"The difference with digital technology is all the extras it adds – the flexibility, speed and cost efficiencies you need to prosper in today’s fast-moving and competitive markets. With Innova Art media, you can keep the look and feel of traditional media but be certain that every image you print, whichever of our substrates your opt for and whatever the print run, will be rendered immaculately."
Innova Art Editions: what’s good enough for Michelangelo… At the forefront of the Innova Art relaunch is the Editions range, comprising two category-busting photo papers and four outstanding cotton rag papers, including two produced in partnership with the famous Italian paper mill, Fabriano. Fabriano has, of course, been the first choice of artists – among them Old Masters such as Michaelangelo, Raphael and da Vinci – for more than 700 years.
These pH-neutral, OBA-free, museum quality inkjet fine art and photo papers offer a range of textures and finishes to satisfy all requirements. They meet or exceed the standards for UV resistance and longevity set by the United Kingdom’s industry body, the Fine Art Trade Guild, following the internationally recognized Blue Wool Scale standard.
All base materials are ethically sourced, including chlorine-free wood pulp from responsibly managed, renewable forests.
And that’s not all… Fine Art and Photo Customers will also be able to choose from superlative selections of media in both the Fine Art and Photo ranges:
- The Fine Art range – matte archival quality inkjet fine art papers with a variety of textures, from a smooth surface to a rough watercolour-type finish and feel. An exciting new edition, unique to the Chinese market, is the Inkjet Rice Paper which has a natural white tone and the soft texture and feel of traditional handmade rice paper.
- The Photo Art range – matte, gloss and semi-gloss archival quality inkjet fine art photo papers that include the renowned FibaPrint® range of inkjet alternatives to traditional darkroom papers, and the winner of the TIPA award in 2006.
All of these papers are of archival quality. They are compatible with both aqueous pigment and dye inkjet and offer exceptional colour gamut and D-max.
The Innova Art team has decades of experience in the development of digital media, having been in the business of creating new digital papers since the 1990s. Innova Art chemists ensure that Innova Art products set industry standards in terms of colour gamut and d-max ratings, and the company’s specialist converting facility ensures that every product is finished to the highest possible standards. The Innova Art range is distributed in more than 30 countries worldwide with local supply chains in the UK, USA and China.
