On 21 October 2009, professional photographer Will Cheung will host a workshop designed to introduce attendees to mains flash photography. Mr Cheung will demonstrate how to use mains flash, talk about lighting control basics, light positioning, how to use backgrounds, brollies, softboxes and a beauty dish. Attendees will practice using reflectors, metering and using one and two heads, and be given posing and composition tips. The workshop begins at 10am and lasts till 5.30pm; the location is Studio Anglesey Arms, Menai Bridge, Anglesey; and the price is £55 for Welshot Imaging Photographic Academy members, £70 for non-members. INTRODUCTION WORKSHOP to Mains Flash Photography

Saturday, 31 October 2009, 10.00am-5.30pm

Learn how to work in a studio environment with professional photographer Will Cheung. You will be shown why and how to use mains flash, lighting control basics, light positioning, how to use backgrounds, brollies, softboxes and a beauty dish. You will practice using reflectors, metering and using one and two heads. You will be given posing and composition tips.

The workshop will also cover how to use beauty, fashion, low key and high key lighting. The day starts with tea and coffee on arrival and a short talk, followed by a demonstration then its time to practise yourself.

With four or five studio set ups you will get the chance to try the lighting set-ups for yourself with a variety of models. Will Cheung FRPS and other professional photographers will be on hand to guide you and give plenty of tuition.
