Iridient Developer 3.0.1

Pacific Grove, CA, March 30, 2015 -- Iridient Digital, Inc. has released Iridient Developer 3.0.1, an update to the critically acclaimed RAW conversion and photo processing software for Mac OS X.

The Iridient Developer 3.0.1 update is now available for download:

The Iridient Dveloper 3.0.1 update includes improvements to the new v3 noise reduction methods for Luminance and Luminance Grain Smoothness, particularly for images with high levels of speckle type noise in the deep shadows. The v3 Color noise reduction methods are now both applicable to monochrome conversions and are now applied prior to monochrome conversion. Use of Color noise reduction can greatly reduce noise levels for some types of monochrome conversions, especially those based on the RGB mixer methods.

An option to specify custom aspect ratios for cropping has been added. The preview window display can now optionally use nearest neighbor interpolation when scaling above 100% which will give a slightly sharper preview rendering that is a closer match to the preview scaling used by some other photo editors and can help emphasize potential image artifacts. The previous "higher quality", smoother Lanczos5 based preview scaling method also remains available and will generally give a closer match to the appearance of the higher quality scaling options available on export, particularly any of the Lanczos based methods.

A few bugs have been fixed including an issue with Extreme Highlight Recovery parameters for Fujifilm X-Trans cameras when shooting in the DR200% and DR400% modes, an issue with the "Custom Tone" monochrome conversion method and an issue with the Threshold adjustment for Unsharp Mask sharpening.

I have also made available new versions of the film style presets for Fujifilm X-Trans cameras that emulate the in-camera style processing. Note that these latest presets are compatible with Iridient Developer 3.0 or later only. Links to older presets which are compatible with older versions of Iridient Developer 2 are still available from my home page. These presets are specifically designed for use with the Fujifilm X-Trans sensor cameras, but may give reasonably good approximations on the Bayer based X models as well and in some cases may work reasonably well with other models. If anyone is interested in seeing more style presets for other camera models let me know.

The latest presets for Fujifilm X-Trans cameras with APS-C based sensors (X100T, X-T1, X-E2, X-M1, X100S, X-E1 and X-Pro1) can be downloaded here:
