Jessops All-Party Parliamentary Photo Contest Winners Announced

Five UK politicians have been announced as winners of the ninth annual Jessops All-Party Parliamentary Photographic Competition. Over 450 entries were received from MPs and Lords from across the country who were invited to submit up to ten images each. This year’s winning MPs are Peter Luff MP with “Cretan Sea”, Tim Loughton MP with “Isfahan Market” and Nick Raynesford with “Leather Seller”. Winners from the House of Lords are Lord Allenby with “Foraging” and Lord Crathorne with “Bridesmaids Bus”. The winning entries will be available for public viewing from 16th May to 20th May at the Jessops All-Party Parliamentary Photographic Exhibition in The Robing Room.

MPs and Peers triumph in The Jessops All-Party Parliamentary Photographic Competition

London, 09 May 2011 – 5 politicians have been announced as winners of the ninth annual Jessops All-Party Parliamentary Photographic Competition. The winning entries were unveiled at the official opening of the Jessops All-Party Parliamentary Photographic Exhibition, held at the House of Commons on 09th May 2011.

The entries covered a diverse range of subjects that spanned both their political and personal lives and were judged by a panel of lives, the photographs were judged by leading figures from the photographic industry.

Judges were Dr Mike Maloney OBE, Damien Demolder, David Parry (Canon UK), Bob Moore and David Land.

This year’s winning MPs are Peter Luff MP with “Cretan Sea”, Tim Loughton MP with “Isfahan Market” and Nick Raynesford with “Leather Seller”.

Winners from the House of Lords are Lord Allenby with “Foraging” and Lord Crathorne with “Bridesmaids Bus”.

Commenting on this year’s competition, Sean Emmett Marketing and E-Commerce Director for Jessops said, “The Jessops All-Party Parliamentary Photographic Exhibition is an excellent opportunity for us all to catch a glimpse behind the scenes of the political and personal lives of UK politicians. The quality of the entries we received proves just how many skilled photographers we have in Parliament and presented the judges with a hugely difficult task when selecting the winners. The diversity of subjects covered demonstrates what colourful yet very ‘real’ lives our politicians lead and I’m sure this will prove fascinating to the public.”

These outstanding images will be available for public viewing from 16th May to 20th May at the Jessops All-Party Parliamentary Photographic Exhibition in The Robing Room and also available to view on the Jessops Facebook page www.facebook.com/jessops
