The Kodak Ektra smartphone is now available for purchase in the United Kingdom. Announced on 20th October, the Kodak Ektra Smartphone (see sample images) offers a 21-megapixel fast-focus rear camera and a lens with an aperture of f2.0, plus an industry-leading 13-megapixel front-facing camera with PDAF and f2.2 aperture. KODAK EKTRA Smartphone on sale for Christmas

Available exclusively at ‘The Kodakery’ London pop-up store from Monday 5th December, and Europe-wide from Tuesday 6th December

London, U.K. – December 1st – Eastman Kodak Company and Bullitt Group today announced the KODAK EKTRA Smartphone will go on sale on Monday 5th December at The Kodakery, a London Kodak pop-up store, before being released Europe-wide from Tuesday 6th December. 

The Kodakery, in London’s Soho, will offer consumers the first chance to try out and purchase the KODAK EKTRA Smartphone as well as showcasing a capsule collection of Kodak products. The Kodakery will provide a unique opportunity for photography enthusiasts - amateurs and professionals alike - to learn, be inspired, create and share.  Celebrating Kodak’s rich history of imaging technology, the space will also showcase Kodak’s contemporary consumer products. 

Originally unveiled on October 20th, the KODAK EKTRA Smartphone has generated broad interest from those who appreciate its classic retro design combined with the latest innovations in smartphone photography. Early samples have been seeded with a range of lifestyle influencers including travel blogger Chloe Gunning @wanderlustchloe and fashion blogger Olivia Blankson @livblankson with the images they capture showcasing its imaging capabilities, whatever the environment.

Isaac Julien, installation artist and filmmaker who has been trialing the KODAK EKTRA Smartphone commented: “A camera phone is one of the most useful tools an artist-filmmaker can have. It's a visual archive that I constantly refer to and what I need to not only remember the past, but also to go forward. The KODAK EKTRA phone is therefore one of the most exciting products to come out.
