Kodak Recalls Novelty Torch
Kodak has recalled a novelty torch that was sold with multi packs of Kodak Max AA batteries. In a small number of cases the torch overheated causing a small part of the plastic housing at the bottom to melt. Customers will be provided with a replacement twelve pack of batteries. This product was sold in UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Cyprus, Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Greece, South Africa and Switzerland.

Kodak issues product recall notice in key European markets for novelty torch offered with Kodak Max AA battery multi pack
London – December 13, 2007 —The Eastman Kodak Company is issuing a product recall notice for a novelty torch that was offered as a promotional item with multi packs of Kodak Max AA batteries. The product recall applies to items sold in the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Cyprus, Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Greece, South Africa and Switzerland.
The issue relates to a fault in the manufacture of the novelty torch. Kodak batteries remain perfectly safe. Kodak is taking this precautionary step due to a small number of cases where the torch has become unusually overheated causing a small part of the plastic housing at the bottom to melt.
As consumer safety and satisfaction are Kodak’s foremost priority, Kodak is requesting that all customers who purchased the item contact Kodak. Customers will be provided with a replacement twelve pack of batteries.
