Mississauga based online photo printing service Kwikpix has announced a new, 4x7” print format that has an aspect ratio of 16:9. The introduction of this new print size allows printing of wide-format still photographs without cropping, and is ideally sized for printing out individual frames from Full HD movies at about 270 pixels per inch. Until 2 September 2010 the new 4x7 “HD” prints are available at the introductory price of 10¢ each, provided you place an order for at least 50 prints.

The 4x7 HD print format (16:9) is a photo format adapted to HD Digital Camera sensors images and to the panoramic modes of many digital cameras. Most HD Camcorder and some Digital Camera models will record 16:9 HD format images. These images are better printed on our new 4x7 HD photo print format.

And, for the very 1st time, we offer our 4x7 HD prints at 10¢* until September 2nd, 2010.

Why use our 4x7 HD print format?

If your pictures get cut off, the image aspect ratio may be to blame. Many digital cameras produce pictures with one of two common aspect ratios: 3:2 and 4:3. The HD format is an additional photo format used by HD digital cameras, camcorders, and in the panoramic modes of many digital cameras. It uses a different aspect ratio, which means it’s a different shape (or aspect ratio) than the one used to print standard 4x6 photos.
