Leaf launches fastest digital camera back series at Photokina
Herzlia, Israel (September 15, 2006) – Leaf is launching its series of the world’s fastest digital camera backs at Photokina 2006, the industry’s largest trade show, in Cologne, Germany. The new Leaf Aptus S-Series will include three new digital camera backs: Leaf Aptus 75S, Leaf Aptus 65S, and Leaf Aptus 54S—all with recordbreaking speed rates and unlimited burst depths. Introducing the Leaf Aptus S-Series: What makes it fast The Leaf Aptus S-Series camera backs can deliver shooting speeds from 0.8 seconds per frame—or as many as 75 frames per minute—with unlimited burst depths.
The camera backs in the new series use advanced, accelerated image-processing hardware, incorporating a new, lossless image-compression engine, designed to achieve record-breaking speeds. Leaf has doubled the CCD sensor readout speed in order to accelerate shooting speeds, and has doubled the buffer size, resulting in unlimited burst depths. The new series maximizes the newest Sandisk CompactFlash Extreme IV card technology for portable shooting, and incorporates the new Firewire 800 communication for maximum speed. It offers sensitivity levels up to 800 ISO.
Never compromising on image quality
With a Leaf Aptus camera back, the entire shooting experience is smooth and easily controlled, and the final images always display Leaf’s trademark uncompromising quality. As the world’s first and only camera back with a built-in 6 x 7 cm touch screen LCD, the Leaf Aptus allows professional photographers to work intuitively, accessing any point on the RAW image with one touch for quick evaluation. The large touch screen gives onetap access available in six languages, including Chinese and Japanese, to a variety of functions and predefined settings that photographers need both before and during the shoot.
Dov Kalinski, General Manager of Leaf, says: “Following intensive feedback and communication with our users, our strategy in developing the new S-Series has focused on their needs and requests. We are aware of their increasing need for shooting speed and burst depths, without any compromise on the image quality.”
New Leaf Capture 10 versions for PC and Intel Mac
The new Leaf Capture 10.1 now includes live video, a new temperature slider, and additional new features. Leaf is also launching a Leaf Capture 10 version for PC software. Designed for simplicity, the Leaf Capture 10 application is the ideal shooting partner for professional photographers. They use it to adjust and perfect images as they shoot—with one clear, simple window for all the tasks they need. With the ability to view Leaf RAW images 1:1, photographers can see the true data they’ve shot , check their essential settings, and increase their productivity levels.
