Seven world-class photographers - Bruce Gilden, Martin Parr, Susan Meiselas, Richard Kalvar, Carolyn Drake, Peter van Agtmael and Mark Power - plus industry leaders, have contributed their unique insights, knowledge and experience to The Art of Street Photography, the first online course from Magnum Photos.

Aimed at photographers and visual artists at all levels, and anyone interested in the culture, theory and practice of the medium, this new online course is the first to be made available through a new online platform, with the aim of supporting photographic learning in an engaging, widely available and affordable format with subtitles in English, Mandarin, French and Spanish.

Through a curriculum of ten engaging, in-depth, on demand video lessons, students will learn the mindset required to be a successful street photographer, understand framing, how to photograph people, discover alternative approaches, and how to create meaning from chaos through the editing process. Students will be able to watch intimate and honest interviews and on location demonstrations, to help them improve their photographic practice. The photographers’ lessons are enhanced by the knowledge of industry leaders Chris Boot, Executive Director at Aperture Foundation, Pauline Vermare, Director of Cultural at Magnum Photos New York and Agnès Sire, Artistic Director at Foundation Henri Cartier Bresson.
