Lehmann Aviation today launched a totally new product - the LA100, a fully automated Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) which, when outfitted with a GoPro camera, enables amateurs to easily capture aerial images and video. Aimed at users with no piloting background, the Lehmann LA100 follows a pre-programmed flight path, so the only thing to do is literally to mount a GoPro Hero, Hero2 or Hero 3, switch on the engine and launch the vehicle. After 5 minutes of capturing footage from a height of 80 to 100 metres, the hand-launched aircraft returns to the launch site with HD aerial videos or photos on the SD card. The LA100 is priced at €990 (around $1,290). Lehmann Aviation says it plans to release hardware and software upgrades for the LA100 on a regular basis.

BLOIS, FRANCE - Lehmann Aviation Ltd, the manufacturer of professional micro civil UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), announced today launch of a totally new product - LA100, a fully automatic UAV which works with GoPro camera and enables amateurs to capture professional quality aerial images and video.

La100 is targeted at users with no piloting background. It follows a pre-programmed flight path, so the only thing to do is literally to mount the GoPro Hero, Hero2, Hero 3 for oblique images or Hero3 for vertical images on the wing, switch the engine on and launch it. After 5 minutes of capturing footage from a height of 80 to 100 meters, the hand-launched aircraft comes back to the launch site with HD aerial photos or videos on the SD card. LA100 flies at speeds of 20 to 80 km/h, at a range of up to 0.5 km. It can also fly in winds of up to 45 km/h and in temperatures from -25° C to 60° C. The wingspan of this UAV is 92 cm whilst the length is 45 cm. Mostly made of foam and carbon fiber, the LA100 weighs around 850 g, including a mounted GoPro camera.

The LA100 is priced at €990 (around $1,290). The deliveries have started in December, 2012. Lehmann Aviation says it plans to roll out hardware and software upgrades for the LA100 on a regular basis.
