Shades of perfection: Leica unveils D-Lux ‘Solid Gray’ high-performance compact camera with two-tone silver and grey styling

Leica Camera has introduced a stunning new model in its compact camera range – the Leica D-Lux ‘Solid Gray’. This beautifully-designed camera is a variation on the current black D-Lux, styled in a striking two-tone finish, with elegant silver lens and control elements complementing the sophisticated, grey enamelled body.

Offering the same high-performance specifications of the standard model, the D-Lux Solid Gray includes an extensive feature set within its compact body, combined with extremely intuitive handling, making it a highly desirable and versatile companion for all photographic situations.

Outstanding highlights of the camera include a fast, Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.9–34 mm f/1.7–2.8 ASPH. lens that is perfectly matched to its large four-thirds sensor, producing exceptional image performance. The zoom lens, with its highly practical range of focal lengths equivalent to 24 to 75mm (in 35mm format), ensures perfect results in a wide range of photographic genres – from portraits to landscapes, architecture to macro, and – the classic domain of Leica cameras – reportage photography.

Further creative possibilities are offered by the camera’s 4K video capability, as well as an integrated WiFi module, providing remote control of the camera from a smartphone or tablet PC, and wireless transmission of still and moving images. The Leica Image Shuttle app that enables these features can be downloaded free of charge and installed on iOS or Android devices.

Included with the Leica D-Lux Solid Gray is a Leica CF D flash unit, also finished in silver, and a specially-designed, matching carrying strap - meticulously finished in genuine leather with exclusive Leica embossing. Its special form factor and non-slip lining ensure particular comfort when carrying the camera.

Pricing and availability

The Leica Leica D-Lux ‘Solid Gray’ is scheduled to be available from Leica stores and authorised Leica dealers in the UK in November 2015, at a suggested retail price of £825 including VAT.
