This year’s Leica Oskar Barnack Award goes to the Swedish photographer Jens Olof Lasthein for his portfolio, “Waitingfor the future – pictures from Abkhazia”. Abkhazia is a disputed territory that is considered to be a part of Georgia international law. “The future of the people there is just as uncertain as that of their home country.
