Brand new tour to Isles of Scilly from Light & Land

2 March 2010

The team of expert landscape photographers at Light & Land has launched a brand new tour to the stunning Isles of Scilly, which runs from 12-16th April 2010.

A unique island paradise located just a short hop off the Cornish coast, the beautiful archipelago of Scilly lies low in the crystal clear water and provides a feast of photographic opportunities – from tranquil white sandy beaches to exposed granite shores with crashing waves.

Light & Land leader and professional photographer Nick Jenkins will be leading the tour.  Nick has many years of experience photographing these idyllic islands and over the course of the 5-day trip will be sharing his expert knowledge.  The tour is suitable for all levels of photographers, from beginners to those more experienced, digital or film users.

The tour is based in St Mary’s, the main island of Scilly, overlooking the busy harbour which is dotted with brightly coloured boats, ideal for learning and improving composition skills.

Guests will also have the opportunity to explore the beautiful landscape of St Marys as well as the possibility of short boat trips (weather permitting!) across to the other islands including St Martins, with its endless beaches and bracken covered hills.

The trip may also take in the privately owned island of Tresco, which boasts the spectacular walled Abbey Gardens with its unique sub-tropical plant life, and two ancient castles to the north of this stunning island.

There will also be the opportunity to have dinner on the last night in the most westerly pub in the UK – The Turks Head on St Agnes – yet another picturesque island of secluded coves and its very own 17th century lighthouse.
