Lomokino Mubi Edition

The Lomographic Society has announced the LomoKino Mubi Edition, the first special edition of the LomoKino Movie Maker, which allows users to capture experimental “Lomographic” movies on 35mm film. Every LomoKino MUBI Edition package comes with a scene of “Ashes”, a LomoMovie made by one of the world’s greatest filmmaking talents Apichatpong Weerasethakul whose film “Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives” won the Palme D’Or in 2010. You will find a part of his LomoMovie spooled into the LomoKino Scope viewer.

CINETMATIC COLLABORATION
If you were one of the lucky visitors of last year’s Festival de Cannes, you might have witnessed the first baby steps of a cinematic collaboration of the analogue kind. After last year’s mutual presentation at Festival de Cannes, MUBI, the online cinema and community for people who love film, teamed up with us to produce the very first clone of the gloriously analogue LomoKino camera. Dressed in plain white with colourful dots, it carries the signature of 2010 Palme D’Or winner Apichatpong Weerasethakul who also added a very special treat for you that will provide you with lots of inspiration to shoot your own LomoMovies. This beautifully designed limited edition is the perfect tool for aspiring filmmakers and movie aficionados alike.
MEET’N’GREET
On May 19 analogue film enthusiasts gathered in Cannes to witness the premier of the very first LomoMovie done by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, called “Ashes”. Over twenty minutes of pure analogue art metthe eyes of influential movie critics from all over the world. Apichatpong Weerasethakul was present at the event and introduced the LomoKino MUBI Edition.. Five days later on May 24, we invite movie enthusiasts to the screening of “Ashes” in our Lomography Gallery Stores worldwide to enjoy an evening filled with cinematographic pleasures.
