Fujifilm eyes an iconic photographic montage
A montage of the London Eye has been created using the entry photographs from a recent British Airways London Eye online photography competition, sponsored by Fujifilm. The competition, which ran throughout April and received hundreds of entries, marked the 25 millionth visitor to this iconic London site.
The montage, made up of both amateur and professional photographs with varying interpretations of the London Eye, will be on display at the British Airways London Eye ticket office, inside County Hall. It will give the public a chance to view one of London’s most famous landmarks from a unique new perspective.
Adrian Clarke, Director of Photo of Fujifilm UK Ltd comments; “Throughout our sponsorship of this competition we have been amazed by the quality of images that have been put before the judging panel. Seeing the London Eye through the lens of someone else’s camera creates an even stronger admiration for one of our most popular attractions. I strongly urge the public and photography community to make a trip to the British Airways London Eye ticket office to see this creative montage of images.”
Fujifilm was the sole sponsor of the British Airways London Eye online photography competition and as a result of its sponsorship the winning photograph and selected runner up images were exhibited at London’s South Bank.
As well as supporting the exhibition, Fujifilm was an integral part of the entire campaign, sitting on the judging panel and providing prizes of FinePix A800 cameras to 11 regional winners and the class-leading FinePix S6500fd to the overall winner. Plus, the Fujifilm Young Photographer of the Year was awarded one of Fujifilm’s new compact SLR-style cameras, the FinePix S5700.
Fujifilm and the British Airways London Eye have had a long relationship that began in 2000, with Fujifilm as the official photographic sponsor when the attraction was first opened. Since then Fujifilm has remained the sole photographic supplier for the London Eye.
