Love Earth Photo CompetitionThe natural history website Loveearth.com has launched a natural history photo contest. Each week 20 images will be selected and published on the site, with the winner drawn at random. The first prize is a digital camera worth £299, and the weekly winners will receive a Planet Earth box set (RRP £20) and £50 worth of Lonely Planet travel guides. Open to all residents of the UK and USA, the Love Earth contest will run until May 31st 2008.

The natural history website challenges photographers to capture images of the wild world around them

Loveearth.com (www.loveearth.com), the natural history website from BBC Worldwide, has teamed up with Lonely Planet to launch a competition to inspire budding photographers to get snappy with pictures of natural wonders.

The competition, which launched in April, will run until May 31st 2008. Entrants of all levels from the UK and the US are being invited to capture images of wild places and animals, bringing natural history to life through incredible pictures.

The loveearth team will select 20 images that catch their eye and these will be published on the site each week. Each week one winner will be drawn at random from the chosen 20 images. These images will sit on the loveearth site alongside some of the most stunning natural beauty snapshots already captured on camera by professionals from around the globe.

The first prize is a fantastic digital camera worth £299, and the weekly winners will receive a Planet Earth box set (RRP £20) and £50 worth of Lonely Planet travel guides of their choice.

·      Copyright: All photographs must be entirely your own work; by sending your images to love earth you grant BBC Worldwide the all rights of use of the image in perpetuity (see Terms and conditions for further details). Photographers will be credited for use of their images as per industry standards.
·      Photographs must not feature any identifiable living person.
·      Digital requirements: Photograph file size must be no larger than 5 MB. Images must be supplied as jpeg or tiff files.
·      Labelling: Photographs must be labelled clearly with your name and a short description. Please note this information will be published if your photo is chosen, so please do not include any details that you do not wish others to see.
·      Entry Period: Entries will be accepted from 14 April until 11.59pm on 31 May 2008.
·      Published photographs will be selected from entries received from all eligible entrants in the UK and the US. 
·      Photos will be published every Monday on loveearth.com for six weeks from 9 June to 14 July 2008.
·      The weekly winners will be chosen at random from the 20 images selected to be published each week.
·      The first prize will be drawn at random from the 120 images previously published on loveearth.com.
