Lowepro Introduces The CompuDay Photo™ Series Designed for New Media Journalists and Bloggers

The new CompuDay Photo™ 250 backpack and CompuDay Photo™ 150 messenger bag feature dedicated space for a camera, laptop and essential personal gear all designed to stay connected to the online world while on the move.

(Sebastopol, CA, February 22, 2011) – Lowepro, the leading brand of protective gear for photography equipment and portable electronics, today unveiled the CompuDay Photo™ series, consisting of the CompuDay Photo™ 250 and 150. Each bag was designed for new media journalists looking to stay connected to the online world and provide comfortable protective solutions for camera, laptop, personal gear and digital media all in one bag.

Dedicated space in both the backpack and messenger bag provide protective storage for a compact DSLR with attached kit lens, up to a 15.6? laptop, plus key accessories such as a cell phone, MP3 player, portable hard drive, USB and a variety of accessories. Interior compartments are lined in highly visible burnt orange to designate storage space and help keep gear organized and accessible.

An adjustable padded camera chamber holds a compact DSLR securely in the main compartment and adjusts to a snug fit via the attached cinch strap. When the camera is removed, the chamber can be collapsed and cinched in place to create additional storage space in the backpack or messenger bag.

Hassle-free camera access is a key component of the CompuDay Photo series’ design. A quick-access side pocket gives way to a compact DSLR to grab-and-shoot while on the move with either the backpack or messenger bag.

“Journalists and avid bloggers were our inspiration when designing the CompuDay Photo series,” said Treg Tyler, Lowepro worldwide director of marketing. “Imagine a day-in-the-life of a technology-connected person: he snaps an impromptu image, downloads it to his laptop, uploads it to his blog or social network and creates a new post. The CompuDay Photo series is made to enhance those types of activities to protect one’s hardware investments while offering ample storage for personal items,” he added.\

Additional features of both bags include: a mesh-covered trolley sleeve to slide over a luggage handle; multiple organization pockets to store accessories, documents and personal items; a removable accessory pouch for power cords or other items; a stretch-mesh side pocket for a water bottle; a quick-grab handle; and a lightly padded, mesh-covered backpad (back panel on messenger bag) to help wick away moisture.

The CompuDay Photo 250 backpack features a SlipLock™ loop on each shoulder strap to expand carrying capacity with any Lowepro SlipLock™ compatible case or pouch; and a rain-flap lid to provide extra protection from moisture.

The CompuDay Photo 150 messenger bag offers distinctive features such as its under-the-flap rain gussets to help protect the main compartment from moisture when fully closed and quick-release buckles for fast access.

The CompuDay Photo 250 and CompuDay Photo 150 are available in black starting March 15, 2011.
