Lytro has launched the world's first light field imaging studio in Tokyo. Providing rich, dynamic exhibitions of living pictures and 3D images captured with the Lytro Illum camera (read review), the Lytro Studio in Tokyo allows visitors to render multiple outputs from a single exposure by adjusting aperture, point of focus, tilt, perspective shift, depth of field and animation. "Lytro Studio transports the flourishing light field ecosystem we have cultivated into a physical experiential space," says Jason Rosenthal, CEO of Lytro. "With its culture of innovation and active photography, fashion and creative communities, Tokyo is the perfect city to host this studio and illustrate the intersection of technology and imaging." Lytro Studio Provides a Hands-On Experience to Explore Light Field through Lytro's Imaging Platform, Living Pictures and 3D Imagery

TOKYO ­ (March 12, 2015) ­ Lytro, Inc. has launched a Lytro Studio in Tokyo to deliver the world's first light field imaging studio experience. Located in the heart of the fashion district of Tokyo, Lytro Studio provides a hands-on opportunity for visitors to interact with and explore light field technology first-hand.

Lytro Studio will provide rich, dynamic exhibitions of living pictures and 3D imagery, which are captured and processed through Lytro's second-generation imaging platform: the Lytro ILLUM, a software-defined light field camera, and Lytro's powerful desktop software.

Professional photographers, creative professionals and the general public will be able to gain hands-on experience with Lytro ILLUM and Lytro Desktop. Harnessing the advantages of light field, users can render multiple outputs, including 3D living pictures from a single exposure by adjusting aperture, point of focus, tilt, perspective shift, depth of field and animation in both 2D and 3D.
