MANFROTTO INVITES WORLDWIDE COMMUNITY TO DEFINE THE FIRST IMAGINE MORE MANIFESTO

London: June 1st 2011 The Manfrotto Imagine More Contest now begins its second phase and enters the world of images. The time has come for “social recorders” - people who love to share their prized moments via social networks - to upload a single, unique, creative or inspiring photographic interpretation of what “Imagine More” means to them, to Facebook, Flickr or www.manfrottoimaginemore.com.

The best shots will be combined with the winning tweets from the first phase of the manifesto to create the Imagine More Manifesto a short film directed by acclaimed photographer and director, Bill Frakes. This will be the first global manifesto on imagination and will premiere during the 2011 Venice Film Festival.

The creation of the Manifesto kicked off at the “An Evening to Imagine More” event held in New York on May 11th. Users of the world’s largest social media communities world including those based in the UK, Europe, Asia and North America were invited to define the ten basic principles of imagination through user-generated tweets.

The second phase of the contest runs from June 1st until midnight on July 14th. Even those who don’t wish to upload an image can participate by voting for their favourites. The images that receive the most votes will be combined with the winning tweets to be made into a short film titled “Imagine More Manifesto”. The premiere of the film by Bill Frakes will be shown in Venice on September 6th in the presence of Italian actor, Violante Placido.

Francesco Bernardi, CEO Vitec Group Imaging & Staging Division said: “May 11th marked the launch of a great challenge, not only for Manfrotto, but also for all creative minds. It’s really impressive to see the reaction that the Imagine More Contest has generated thus far. People are posting hundreds of creative and inspiring tweets and sharing their thoughts with the Manfrotto community. The Imagine More initiative couldn’t have started in a more encouraging way”.

The initial phase of the Imagine More Manifesto, which closed on May 31st, is the result of thought on imagination provided by both creative enthusiasts worldwide and the panel of talent involved in the official launch of the initiative: visual artist and thought leader, Chase Jarvis; international chef and co-owner of Red Rooster in Harlem, N.Y. Marcus Samuelsson; Barneys New York Creative Ambassador, Simon Doonan; famed DJ, Mia Moretti and Italian actress, Violante Placido.

Winners of both phases of the contest will be rewarded with an exclusive trip to Venice for the 2011 Venice Film Festival.
