London, 27th March 2012 – Manfrotto, the world leader in the design, production and distribution of equipment and accessories for the photographic and imaging industry, has won two prestigious accolades at one of the world’s leading design competitions: the 2012 Red Dot Design Awards. The two winning Manfrotto products were selected by an international judging panel and beat off stiff competition from 4,515 entrants, submitted by designers and companies from 58 countries. Judges singled out Manfrotto products for their unique and innovative design.

The Manfrotto SYMPLA Rig System is a sleek, modular solution for HDSLRs and camcorders.

SYMPLA has already generated great excitement within the industry as it offers the safest and most comfortable support to date, streamlining the work of videographers. The Manfrotto 502HD System is an innovative telescoping video kit incorporating the MVH502A fluid head and the MVT502AM tripod. The system, featuring a lightweight yet sturdy and compact body, represents a step-change in design and technology for all professional videographers.

In addition to Manfrotto’s accolades, the Imaging & Staging Division of the Vitec Group was honoured with a prize for the Gitzo Systematic tripod range, having introduced a completely redesigned range of supports in January 2012.

The Gitzo Systematic range incorporates the very latest technological features, the best quality materials and the most innovative construction techniques in order to provide exacting photographers with practical improvements in performance.

The acknowledgment of Manfrotto and Gitzo products by such an international top class jury confirms, once again, the value of Italian quality design, positioning Manfrotto among the world most valuable companies in innovation, research and development. The awards schedule takes place on 2 July 2012, at the Aalto-Theater in Essen, Germany. The event is expected to be attended by more than 1,000 international guests from the worlds of design, industry, politics and media.
