Microtek ScanMaker 6100 Pro Offers Exceptional Film-Handling Features

Las Vegas, NV (February 13, 2004)—Microtek introduced at PMA today the ScanMaker 6100 Pro, a high-resolution scanner that offers superior film-handling capabilities, incorporates new accessories for multiformat film scanning, and includes an exceptional software package designed for high-level imaging productivity.

Featuring 48-bit color and 6400 x 3200-dpi optical resolution, the ScanMaker 6100 Pro is the ideal workhorse for the prosumer, amateur photographer or anyone working closely with film media, boasting of several film-handling and productivity-enhancement features specifically built for the scanner.

For instance, the ScanMaker 6100 Pro features the new EZ-Lock Film Holders, an exclusive film accessory kit making its debut with this scanner. Made of sturdy plastic, these exclusive film holders from Microtek lock film securely into place on the scan bed to ensure perfect alignment and consistent scans. Together with the Microtek ScanWizard 5 scanner controller software, the EZ-Lock Film Holders work to automatically detect film quantity, detect film format, and auto-crop frames during film scanning to make the process easier than ever. Batch scanning of film is also straightforward and effortless, as rows or batches of film can be scanned quickly in a single pass.

Two EZ-Lock Film Holders are included with the ScanMaker 6100 Pro: one that accommodates 12 frames of 35mm filmstrips positioned along two vertical rows; and a second holder that accommodates four 35mm slides, as well as a slot for medium-format film such as 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7, and 6x9.

As an added feature to ease film handling, the ScanMaker 6100 Pro includes a 4?x5? Mylar template is included to allow scanning of film up to 4? x 5? in size.
