"My Sussex" Local Photography Competition

Local online photography hub, “The Sussex Photography Project” has launched its new annual photography competition and exhibition “My Sussex”. Sussex Photography Project co-founder, Simon Courcha says: “Through the site and the ‘My Sussex’ competition and exhibition we aim to encourage and feature some great local photography. Thanks to the support of our sponsors RedBox Cameras, competition entry is free and we are delighted to be able to stage an exhibition of the best entries as part of the inaugural Crowborough Arts Festival.” The first prize is a Ricoh CX3 digital compact camera, while the second prize winner will win a place on a creative photography course provided by UK Photo Courses. Third prize is a range of photographic papers provided by Online Papers. Open to amateur and professional photographers alike, the competition is open for submissions until 2nd September 2010.

‘My Sussex’ – Local Photography Competition & Exhibition Launched
Local online photography hub, ‘The Sussex Photography Project’ has launched its new annual photography competition and exhibition ‘My Sussex’.
Through the theme ‘My Sussex’ photographers are invited to capture an aspect of Sussex life or landscape that is particularly special to them. Sussex Photography Project co-founder, Simon Courcha says: “Through the site and the ‘My Sussex’ competition and exhibition we aim to encourage and feature some great local photography. Thanks to the support of our sponsors RedBox Cameras, competition entry is free and we are delighted to be able to stage an exhibition of the best entries as part of the inaugural Crowborough Arts Festival.”
There are some great prizes on offer for the top three entries, including a first prize of a Ricoh CX3 High End Compact Camera (value £300) supplied by RedBox Cameras. The second prize winner will win a place on a creative photography course provided by UK Photo Courses. Third prize is a range of photographic papers provided by Online Papers.
Up to 12 commended entries (along with the 3 main prize winners) will have their photos displayed as part of the ‘My Sussex’ photographic exhibition to be held at Cafe Baskerville in Crowborough between 18th September and 2nd October 2010. This event will be part of the inaugural Crowborough Arts Festival. The exhibition will also feature work from five talented local photographers: Andrew Newson, James Galpin, Wendy Pye, Simon Courcha and Lucy Phillips.
The competition is open to everyone, amateurs and professionals. Entries must be in digital format, but there are no restrictions on digital processing or enhancement or the type of camera that can be used.
The competition is open for submissions until 2nd September 2010. One submission per person and entry is free.
