Vanguard has announced a range of semi-elliptical, heavy-duty ball heads that automatically adjust and increase tension to handle off-centre load. Vanguard’s patented Combination-Friction Forces Control feature enables extreme tension and friction control via an ergonomic grooved dial located on the main adjustment knob. Both are independently adjustable but positioned side-by-side on the same axis for convenient fine-tuning. This combination of precise tension and friction forces control increases the strength to provide outstanding security. Compatible with numerous Arca quick release plates, the new ABH series ball heads offer maximum load capacities of 20-40kg, and are priced from $199 to $299.

New for 2010 is VANGUARD’s top-of-the-line ABH Series semi-elliptical ball heads that automatically adjust and increase tension to handle off-center load with exceptional strength and stability.

Stability X3 system- provides exceptional stability with an additional component between the semi-elliptical ball head and housing, providing a loading weight capacity three times greater than that of other ball heads.

Industry-leading housing with oxidation anodizing treatment, which provides a smooth, scratch-free surface. It prevents scratching and damaging with incredible resistance.
Quick release plate with cavity-mounted, anti-slip rubber pads for greater camera-to-surface security.

Compatible with numerous Arca quick release plates, its platform requires no adaptor.

Choose from models with two lock types: L-type flip lock quick release unlocks the lever to 90 degrees and allows the quick shoe movement to the left and right. Holding the gear snugly in place, it allows for minor movement.  The K-type knob lock enables fine-tuning changes.
