SPIDER HOLSTER AS VERSATILE AS EVER WITH INTRODUCTION OF NEW CROSS-PLATFORM COMPATIBILITY
More Photographers Can Embrace Unique Holster System with New Adaptors for Popular Brand-Named Belt Systems, Plus New Attachments for Arca-Swiss Quick-Release Plates
Ithaca, NY – June 7, 2010 – Spider Holster, a company specializing in unique holster-style carrying solutions for photographers, today announced several newly-created cross-platform adaptors. These adaptors enable more photographers to eliminate the back, shoulder and neck strain often experienced with traditional camera straps and shoulder bags, while seamlessly integrating the versatile Spider Holster into their existing gear collections. The first of these new offerings includes a collection of kits which enable photographers to quickly connect the SpiderPro holster to popular professional-grade belt systems, including Think Tank Photo’s Pro Speed BeltsTM and Steroid Speed BeltTM. Current SpiderPro owners also have access to a new simple modification that facilitates use with Lowepro’s Street and Field Series. Plus, owners of Arca-Swiss-style ballheads and tripods can now purchase a new double-dovetail quick-release plate for a faster transition.
“Cross-compatibility is extremely important for professional photographers. Many of us are eager to incorporate new technologies and new tactics into our workflow, especially if they can be integrated into our current collection of equipment,” said Shai Eynav, president of Spider Holster. “By providing adaptability with Lowepro and ThinkTank belt systems, as well as new quick-release plates compatible with Arca-Swiss style heads and tripods, we are expanding the pool of photographers who can integrate the efficient Spider Holster into their day-to-day workflow.”
Popular Belt System Adaptability
While the Spider HarnessBelt continues to be a popular option for photographers to comfortably strap on their SpiderPro, many shooters have also invested in popular harness and belt systems such as the Think Tank Photo Speed Belts and Steroid Belts to provide arm’s length storage while on location. To enable these users to bring the unique capabilities of the Spider Holster to their existing system, two new adaptors, each specifically designed for the different dimensions of these popular belts, were created. Available direct from Spider Holster the Speed Belt adaptor sells for $19.99 and the Steroid Belt adaptor is $12.99.
Another widely used harness system is Lowepro’s Street and Field system. For current Spider Holster owners, the company developed a simple do-it-yourself modification that will attach the SpiderPro to Lowepro harness and belt systems. Brief instructional videos demonstrating the necessary modification, and walking through the set-up process for the Think Tank adaptors, are available on the company website.
Arca-Swiss Quick-Release Plate
While the SpiderPlate enables standard tripod and ballhead owners to use the quick-release attachments from their tripod makers, the growing use of the double-dovetailed quick-release plates, commonly referred to as Arca-Swiss-style, has been the catalyst for a new partnership between Spider Holster and accessory-maker Acratech. Known for its high-quality designs, Acratech designed and manufactured a quick release plate that easily attaches the SpiderPlate to the increasingly popular ballhead and tripod styles. The Arca-Swiss-style quick-release plate can be purchased from Spider Holster or Acratech for $39.95.
Coming Soon: Additional DSLR Accessories
Spider Holster also announced plans for additional compatibility options to be available in the near future. For users of the Sony ® Alpha series of DSLRs, Spider Holster will be offering a new attachment to accommodate the camera’s unique vertical grip. Developed in conjunction with Spider Holster user Ryan Reid, the new adaptor will enable Sony Alpha users to securely take advantage of all of the versatile attachment options made possible by the SpiderPlate.
Spider Holster is also preparing to offer an attachment ring for DSLR users that rely on hand straps to keep their cameras secured. The new D-ring will attach to an existing threaded port in the SpiderPlate, allowing the hand strap to securely fasten to the plate, out of the way of the camera’s controls.
The complete Spider Holster System carries an MSRP of $109.99, though retail pricing may vary in some markets. To find a local retail outlet or purchase direct, please visit the Spider Holster website at: http://www.spiderholster.com.
