Fujifilm have announced new firmware updates for the GFX 50S, X-T20, X-A3 and X-A10 cameras will be released in the next few months. The GFX firmware update 3.00 will add two new functions “Focus Bracketing” and “35mm Format Mode”. The X-T20 firmware update 2.00 will provide support for “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO”, improve studio flash controller compatibility, introduce new AF tracking algorithm and include other functional and operational updates.

The latest complimentary upgrade will provide two new functions “Focus Bracketing”, “35mm Format Mode” and will expand compatibility for the “H MOUNT ADAPTER G”.

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) will release a free firmware update for the FUJIFILM GFX 50S (“GFX 50S”) medium format mirrorless digital camera in March 2018. The update reflects feedback received by professional GFX users with regards to adding new functions. As a result, the firmware update will add two new functions “Focus Bracketing” and “35mm Format Mode”. The new firmware for accessory will also expand the compatibility for the “H MOUNT ADAPTER G” accessory.

Firmware Version:

FUJIFILM GFX 50S: Ver.3.00

• 1. Addition of “Focus Bracketing”
  The update will enable the photographer to shoot focus distance bracketing up to 999 frames. When the photographer start shooting, the focal location is shifted with each activation of the shutter by the step of focus shift set from 1 to 10.
• 2. Addition of “35mm Format Mode”
  The update will enable the photographer to shoot central 36.0mm x 24.0mm (30.5M) cropped images as both JPEG and RAW files. When using 35mm format adapters, it will be easier to adjust the image size to 35mm format image circle lenses. It will also enable the photographer to use the Fn button for quicker setting changes.
• 3. ”H MOUNT ADAPTER G” new firmware
  The firmware update will expand the compatibility for the for “H MOUNT ADAPTER G” accessory *.*Check the list of compatible lenses and accessories.

Complimentary upgrades will provide support for “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO”, improve studio flash controller compatibility, introduce new AF tracking algorithm and include other functional and operational updates for the ever evolving X Series mirrorless camera range.

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) will release free firmware updates for the FUJIFILM X-T20(“X-T20”) X Series mirrorless digital camera. These updates will be released at the beginning of April 2018 and will reflect feedback received by FUJIFILM X Series users with regards to improving usability and adding new functions to the X-T20.

This firmware update will add new support for the “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO” software that allows users to connect the camera to a computer via USB cable for developing RAW files in camera. The new firmware will also enhance the AF tracking algorithm for moving subjects, improve third party studio flash controller usability as well as add new functions designed to improve operability.

FUJIFILM X-T20 (Ver.2.00)

• 1. New AF tracking algorithm for moving subjects 
  Thanks to the newly developed image recognition algorithm, the update enhances AF-C to track moving subjects twice as fast as previous firmware. In addition, the update also enhances tracking to be able to capture up to 50% smaller moving subjects than before.
• 2. Enhanced touch screen operation
  The firmware update will add some of the touch screen operation features which are currently available on the FUJIFILM X-E3. These touch screen features include:

  
  

  1) The AutoFocus area can be moved when in focus zoom with flick operation.

  2) Pinch-in/out operation in playback mode will be updated to go from full-frame playback to multi-frame playback

  (Nine-frame view and Hundred-frame view)

  3) Select the frame in multi-frame playback with tap or drag operation or return to full-frame playback by double-tapping

  4) Q (Quick) menu selection in Q menu

  5) Input character with touch key-board*1

• 3. Support “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO”
  After connecting a camera to a computer via USB cable, the “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO” enables users to convert RAW files with X Processor Pro. Fast batch processing will also be available. The “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO” can be downloaded from the FUJIFILM website for free.
• 4. Compatible with the newly developed FUJINON XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens
  The upgrade will add compatibility for the newly developed FUJINON XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens.

  
  

  1) MF ring can be used as zoom ring

  2) Maintain the lens zoom position during interval shooting

  3) Maintain the lens zoom position in playback mode to shorten the startup time for the next shooting

• 5. Improve radio flash controller usability
  The upgrade allows users to shoot with compatible third party studio flash in high speed sync. or TTL mode via their radio controllers.
• 6. RGB histogram display and highlight warning
  If you press the function button in the histogram, RGB histogram and highlight warning (high brightness portion will blink) will be displayed.
  7. Enlarged and customizable indicators or information 
  The upgrade allows users to enlarge indicators and information in the viewfinder and/or LCD monitor. This upgrade will also enable users to customize the location of where the information is shown on the display.

Complimentary upgrades will add support for “FUJINON XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ” and “instax SHARE SP-3” compatibility.

These updates will be released at the beginning of March 2018 and will add compatibility with newly announced products and new functions to the X-A3 and X-A10.

This firmware update will provide compatibility with “FUJINON XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OSI PZ” unique additional features when attached to the camera and also a compatibility with “instax SHARE SP-3”. FUJIFILM attempts to continuously upgrade firmware on cameras and lenses in order to provide better user experience and enhance the joy of photography for our customers.

  1) Zoom function with rear command dial when the LCD is 180 degree rotated
  2) Front ring function automatically switches between “manual zoom” and “focus ring” depends on focus mode
  3) Memorize the lens zoom position when power off and return to the position when power on
  4) Maintain the lens zoom position in playback mode to shorten the startup time for the next shooting
•  2. Compatible with instax SHARE SP-3
  The upgrade adds compatibility with instax SHARE SP-3, as well as SP-1 and SP-2.
