HP today introduced a range of new HP Photosmart printers with unique HP TouchSmart touch-sensitive technology. The HP Photosmart C4680, HP Photosmart and HP Photosmart with Wireless, HP Photosmart Plus and the HP Photosmart Premium (pictured) are the latest products to complement the HP Photosmart series and come with a number of new features. The HP Photo Print Gadget allows users easily drag and drop photos to a desktop icon from virtually anywhere – folders, applications, e-mail and websites. Many of the printers in the new HP Photosmart series, including the HP Photosmart with Wireless, HP Photosmart Plus and the HP Photosmart Premium, have built-in wireless features. Apple iPhone or iPod touch users can enjoy wireless printing photos using the HP iPrint Photo application, the first of its kind available for free on the Apple App Store. BOEBLINGEN, Germany, Sept 8, 2009 – HP today introduces a range of new HP Photosmart printers with unique HP TouchSmart touch-sensitive technology offering the whole family quick, easy and fun printing at their fingertips. The HP Photosmart C4680, HP Photosmart and HP Photosmart with Wireless, HP Photosmart Plus and the HP Photosmart Premium are the latest products to complement the HP Photosmart series.

HP brings printing to the heart of family life by allowing everyone to get involved. The new Photosmart series has transformed the printer from a functional device to a fun and creative platform that the whole family can engage with. With the unique TouchSmart technology, even the youngest family members can print photos or games on their own without using a desktop PC or notebook.  A family can also print creative and fun projects using shortcut keys such as the QuickForm button on the TouchSmart screen.

One touch

With just one touch homework, pictures and work documents are printed with ease. In addition, lab-quality pictures and intense colour comes as standard across the HP Photosmart series, allowing the whole family to share beautiful moments like never before. Using the built-in memory card slot and HP TouchSmart screen to navigate and select photo collections, the automatic adjustments for red-eye, lighting and colour help the user get the best quality prints easily and quickly.

Ease of use

The new HP Photosmart printers offer immense functionality but are also easy to set up and use.  Key features include:

·      The HP Photo Print Gadget allowing users can easily drag and drop photos to a desktop icon from virtually anywhere – folders, applications, e-mail and websites. The software will also intelligently edit and crop photos to suit the photo paper size, making photo editing and printing a much more straightforward and enjoyable task.

·      The HP Smart Web Printing application helps users save ink and paper by combining multiple web pages onto one printed page, so users only print the parts they want.

·      Many of the printers in the new HP Photosmart series have built-in wireless features to provide flexible printing for all the family to use around the home, including the HP Photosmart with Wireless, HP Photosmart Plus and the HP Photosmart Premium. The one button wireless connectivity makes setting up the printer on a home network easier than ever.

·      Apple iPhone™ or iPod touch™ users can enjoy wireless printing photos using the HP iPrint Photo application, the first of its kind available for free on the Apple App Store. (1) 

HP Photosmart C4680

The HP Photosmart C4680 is a versatile, intuitive printing system that makes at-home scanning, copying and printing simple and convenient. Easily view and print photos, web pages and everyday documents with the printer’s colour display with a HP TouchSmart frame.

The HP TouchSmart frame includes a 3.7cm colour display screen with touch buttons on the left and right sides of the screen for easy navigation through the printing process. The device uses Integrated Print Head (IPH) which ensures reliability and optimised print quality.

HP Photosmart and HP Photosmart with Wireless

The HP Photosmart is a compact printer with the simplicity of a TouchSmart frame with control buttons on the left and right sides of the screen for easy navigation with a 3.7cm colour display for the user to easily view, print, copy and scan photos and documents without connecting to a PC.

The HP Photosmart with Wireless has the same feature set but offers on top wireless functionality.

Both devices use the HP 364 Series Ink Cartridges (four individual inks cartridges). The ink cartridges can produce enhanced image detail with dual-drop volume technology with laser-quality text and vivid colour images.

HP Photosmart Plus

The HP Photosmart Plus All-in-One is a complete print, scan and copy solution that allows consumers to wirelessly print photos, web content and everyday documents with ease. The printer’s full-featured 6.1cm TouchSmart screen enables consumers to conveniently display, edit and print photos on the device screen—all without turning on the PC.

The printer uses the HP 364 Series Ink Cartridges (four individual ink cartridges) which ensures high print quality in both text and colour images. The prints are fast-drying with improved water and smudge resistance. The new ink is optimised for porous photo media.

HP Photosmart Premium

The HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One features the convenience and simplicity of a large 8.9 cm TouchSmart screen. Users can view, edit and print lab-quality photos from an online album at Snapfish(3) all from the screen of the device. The HP Photosmart Premium offers built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth® and Ethernet capabilities for notebooks, PCs and mobile devices alike.

The HP Photosmart Premium also includes a duplex function built in, allowing users to save paper and money by printing on both sides of a page.

The printer also uses the HP 364 Series Ink Cartridges with five individual ink cartridges (including the HP 364 Photo Black standard or optional XL Ink Cartridges) for best photo quality. All products in the HP Photosmart series make printing affordable for the whole family.

Designed with the environment in mind, the ENERGY STAR® certified all-in-one series reduce energy use by more than 25 per cent over previous models and feature paper-saving options such as automatic two-sided printing.

Premium Printing and Performance

The HP Photosmart C4680 is compatible with the HP 300/300XL Black and Tri-Colour Ink Cartridges (Cyan, Magenta and Yellow) producing high-quality, durable documents. The user can also use the HP 300 Photo Starter Pack for affordable printing needs.

The HP Photosmart Wireless, HP Photosmart Plus and the HP Photosmart Premium are compatible with the HP 364 Series Ink Cartridges. The user can choose to purchase standard cartridges, XL cartridges or Photo Value Packs to suit their printing and economic needs.

The HP 364 Series Photo Value Pack provides an alternative full package option which includes a pack of 100 sheets of HP Advanced Photo paper 10 x15cm glossy and three customised HP 364 series Ink Cartridges (Cyan, Magenta and Yellow).

New Look Packaging

Along with all HP supplies, the printers will feature a new package design with slick black boxes, vibrant images and easy-to-reference icons to complement existing HP notebook and desktop packaging. This will help customers easily identify all HP products in retail outlets.
