New Photo Iconic Photographic Holidays in Ireland

Photo Iconic, in conjunction with Strabo Photo Tours, is leading two photographic holidays in Ireland this July. The first one, Ireland - Landscape, People & the Craic (21-25 July 2011, $1545), includes a “special treat” - a specially arranged Irish music session to photograph, at which the course participants will experience the ‘craic’, an enchanting mix of fun, entertainment, and conversation. The second, longer trip, Ireland - A Different View, Landscapes & Panoramas (25-31 July 2011, $2345), promises to be a more intensive photographic experience. It concentrates on the stunning Irish landscape of County Mayo and County Galway, and will include workshops on panoramic photography. The prices quoted include all tuition, transfers from Ireland West Airport Knock, plus accommodation and breakfast and dinner at Hillcrest House near Westport, County Mayo.

Ireland - A Different View, Landscapes & Panoramas, July 25th – 31st 2011
This longer trip offers a more intensive photographic experience. It concentrates on the stunning Irish landscape of County Mayo and County Galway, and will include workshops on panoramic photography. Western Ireland is blessed with dramatic coastline, misty mountains, and broad expanses of picturesque peat bogs. This natural landscape is dotted with traces of history, from deserted famine villages to impressive round towers, and crumbling abbeys. For photographers, it offers endless opportunities to capture beautiful images in an ever-changing light. The trip - which could be combined with the shorter trip to make an unforgettable 10-day experience - also includes an Irish music evening – without which no Irish holiday would be complete! The tutors
The trips will be led by award-winning professional photographers, Nick Meers and Chris Coe. Nick is an experienced panoramic and large format photographer, and has built his own cameras for this purpose. He is also the author of the acclaimed book on panoramic photography, Stretch. Chris also shoots in these formats and is the founder of the prestigious international Travel Photographer of the Year awards.

Accommodation and costs
The course costs include all tuition, transfers from Knock Airport, plus accommodation and breakfast and dinner at Hillcrest House near Westport, County Mayo. A relaxed place to stay, Hillcrest House has been set up specifically to accommodate groups of photographers. It has an extensive library of photographic books, an iMac for guests’ use, plus wireless internet.

The trips are organised in conjunction with Strabo Photo Tours. Landscape, People & the ‘Craic’ costs US $1545 (approx £1025 or Euro 1195), while ‘A Different View’ costs US $2345 (approx £1545 or Euro 1795).
